That's pretty pathetic. I guess he declined insurance on 200k worth of machines.

Real friends don't try to break it off in your asss. I would not lose a moments sleep over this. Anyone who would attempt something like this is certainly not worthy of your friendship.

It is a shame that a friend of 15 years would try too cheat you out of that much money? So was he really your friend?

I am curious if you asked him why he thought it was your responsibility too pay for damage his employees caused?

He compared it to if one of my employees broke a trimmer.

I told him, you & your hired operators are not my employees. The he babbled on about how he took the job to do me a favor and get me out of a bind. (I had another company I'm good friends with coming look at the job, I just offered him first dibs since we have worked together many times in the past)

We have actually know each other out whole lives. My mom runs his dads supply boat company and has for 35years.

I've built both my companies myself (some help from my mom for management stuff). The equipment he runs was all bought by his dad and he has taken over that company.

O well. That's over with. Almost the weekend.

He is clearly the one at fault. If he doesn't understand the point you are making, he is a moron. He is only hurting himself by destroying the friendship.

Long as you didn't break the stuff it is his ass you paid him for his services. You are in the clear

I've had people cut from the same cloth that I had to deal with- erase his number from your phone and throw his business card out. Rent the machines your self next time
