So I patched a few bare spots on a lawn last week with fresh compost and new seed. We had a lot of rain and suprisingly the seed had already sprouted when I stopped by a week later. But the new grass is light green and the original grass is dark green!!!!!!!!!!!!!????? :dizzy:

I used a sun/shade mix and I was assuming it would blend in.
As you can see I'm no pro in planting grass.

Will the grass eventually blend in? What do you guys think?

New grass will be a different shade (lighter) and should darken a little as it matures but you need to match the type or it will always be different.

Time to get out the paint brush:laugh:

Assuming the patches are not very large, the existing old grass should eventually start to cover over the spots. But I am not an expert at this.
