i got an old tire on my trailer and it needs replaced badly. a friend of mine had some old tires he was going to get rid of so he let me look at them to see if i could use them. well, the closest i came to finding a replacement is 225/70/14. my tire size now is 205/70/14. my question is, can i use this tire as a replacement? thanks.

If your existing tires are say only 3/4" to 1" from rubbing on inside of fender (side facing trailer)..then might be too wide when you hit bumps/tracks,ect in road. Check the clearence. If more like 2-3 inches or more..should be fine. I am replacing my fenders..noticed one tire had at one point been rubbing? But bought used and who knows what might have been on there. most I've seen have plenty of clearence..but have seen them with not alot too.

That tire is also taller. 225 to 205 is only less than 3/4 of a inch wider but it is a inch taller.
