I'm in the market for a truck under $20k that can pull a 14k dump trailer. It seems the f350 is the only one with a high enough rating from the factory. My question is are the ones with a factory steel dump bed not able to tow as much. I'm not as worried about lower payload on the truck itself. As long as it can still legally pull 14k.
As long as you buy a truck 12,000 lb gross vehicle weight you will still be under 26001 lbs . Once you break 26001 , you are in CDL territory in my neck of the woods .
I've read so many different answers on a cdl. Some say that just because the trailer is over 10k I need one I will probably just get one just in case. I will also need a dot number. I just want to make sure the truck is rated for 14k so I'm not breaking any laws or civil suits incase of accident
Did you tell them to check the law and the website?
