Will spring core aeration make the lawn more drought tolerant?

Turn out I have a client who will be absent over the summer and basically want to let the lawn die off. :hammerhead:

He is pre paying for bi-weekly mowings. My plan is to mow it high 3.5" up until June and then mow it at over 4" just before the summer heat. All mulch mowings.

I'm going to do 3 test patches of 10' x 10' in different areas of the lawn to test how well core aeration will help the lawn become more drought tolerant.

Yes no one will water it except for the rain. Will aeration make difference?

    Any input?

Not sure about making it more drought tolerant 8-12 weeks away, but it does promote the overall health of the lawn. I do spring aerations for many of my clients and it makes the lawn pop and those lawn have deep root systems. Along with higher mowing heights, it should survive pretty well. But that's in KY lol

I will be posting before and after pics to document this grand experiment.

    Time will tell.
