Anyone else running into Wirsbo pipe a lot when doing installs? It seems to have become very common nowadays for main water lines to houses (new construction).

It's interesting stuff, but really a pain to tap into. Took us a $300 set of new tools and lots of elbow grease to tap into that stuff. It's a major pain.

It may be. Around here the suppliers and plumbers just call it Wirsbo pipe. But I was just looking at the Wirsbo website and they call it Wirsbo-Pex.

Its getting semi common around here, still mostly poly.

Still, since we tap at the meter, its pretty easy to insert a tee inbetween the threaded crimped on Pex fitting and the meter (Using a brass union). So you don't have to mess with the Pex.
