Anyone heard of these? There is a "older" one (acording to the owner) it has a 48" deck and is a hydro. He said it doesn't look like a newer WB (whatever that means). Price is 600$. Was thinking of picking it up for a back-up. Any info you guys know about it?

I have never heard anything good about woods mowers. Maybe somebody else will chime in here.

Do they even make their own mowers? I see some on their site that are M and F series that do not look familiar but every other model on there is a rebadged Bobcat mower. They even have rebadged LEO's.

So whatever it is it may have been made by someone else anyway...

I have seen a few of these - they are not very much like the exmark/gravely/scag machines and I don't think they have been manufactured in a few years. Can you get parts?

I did not know Woods ever sold a walkbehind. would love to see a photo of it.
No, Woods does not make their mowers. Grasshopper made them until the mid 90's. Then, Woods did try to build some themselves, using pirated Grasshopper designs. Grasshopper put a stop to that, so Woods had to farm out production again. Gravely made them for a while, but, I believe Bobcat now makes the midmounts, and Encore makes the front-decks.
With Woods, you never know what you are getting from year to year.

Here's an ebay auction for one -

I've seen some stranger looking ones with a bigger cowl on the front too.

Yea, the guy said it didn't look like newer (his words) wb's. Think I should go look at it?
