What work pants do you use?

We wear khaki pants, and would buy Wrangler khakis from walmart for $16, they were great, durable, and lasted. They were almost like the Cintas work pants. Walmart discontinued selling them and the cintas are $32 a pair plus $6 shipping - $38 a pair. I am not a fan of the khaki dickies, they are stiff, heavy, and just don't like the color khaki it is.

Any other suggestions??

no other stores in your area other than walmart? I found the Wrangler khaki pants at Orschelns (a farm supply store). I'd guess they are what you are talking about. I wear a 36/36, so the fact they had my size was the only reason I bought 2 pair. I don't really like the waist on them, they are the old kind, really high in the waist, not where I wear my pants, and since I've gotten fat over the winter that 36" is tight now!

I'm hoping they are cooler than denim, but I have my doubts. Until it gets besatly hot I won't know...

I haven't been able to find them anywhere else. We love those pants, they are thick enough to be durable by light enough for when it gets hot. When it gets cold we usually where coveralls in the mornings until it warms up or in the late last minute of the season for leaves where carhartt pants that are thicker.

We wear the same. I have found them on ebay for $20.00, and they last a long time.

I wear the Dickies tan work pants, and they really worked well for me last season.
Got em at Fleet Farm (any farm supply store would probably have em). $18-$20 a pair I think?

depending on the weather when its cooler i usually wear just the cheap old wrangler jeans from walmart but anything above 70 im breaking out the kahki cargo shorts

They have all sorts of military spec stuff, including plain khaki or olive drab colored bdu's. (would not advise camo for image reasons) I like the 100% cotton ripstop and poly blend ripstop. Both are lightweight enough to use in spring/fall. They have heavier twills and such for colder weather. The design allows more movement than khakis, they're adjustable for waist size within a good range, and lots of pockets for stuff.

I would not skimp on quality, I've bought some lower cost ones and they don't look, feel, or function as well.

For the really hot parts of summer you have to go with shorts.

I can not stand shorts!! I will deal with the heat but I cant stand grass clippings on my legs and critters bitting my legs. I also wear long sleeves in summer because of clippings on my arms and sweating makes it itch and burn really bad, it is hotter at first but is cooler once you sweat enough, you do have to drink more fluids because you will be sweating more at first.

Might sound like a cheap azz, but I go to goodwill and find the toughest kahki pants I can. I usually end up buying double layer bdu type or levi work gear. I spend about 2 bucks because I buy them when they are on sale. lol

we wear Red Kap brand pants, basically dickies . they are super stiff at first, but after a few pre washes, and a month they are nice and last for years. they go with our uniforms . but, i know you said you dont like those kind of pants, but thought i would share. depends on the image you go for, cargo would not go well imo with our uniform ****s, but would a co. tshirt

I wear whatever brand I can find at Goodwill...I think the pants I used most last year were some khaki abercrombies that I bought for $5 or less...depending on what the special color of the day was.

Ditto!! Carhartt is some extremely tough stuff and i absolutley love the fit! I wear their shorts if i am going to be doing the mowing or if my task is weedeating and edging i where carhartt pants!!! They are awesome and they don't wear out like the usual cheap pants do. They may be 30-40 dollars but they are worth every penny!! The only way you are going to quit using them is if you stain them up really bad or if you gain or loose weight!

I also wear the military style cargo pants. Cotton when its cooler and the blend when its warmer. I also wear the military style hat with the brim all the way around. I have worn these for years. Green pants, tan shirt, tan hat. I buy them at the Army navy surplus store. 28 bucks for the pants and 8 for the hat.

sorry, didn't see this sooner, usually make an order from my army/navy store, but this last time I just tried bdu.com. They are $25 each on bdu.com and $30 or more from the place near me...hope that helps ya.
