Since everybody and their dog has jumped on the commercial mower bandwagon...
I propose the following: LAWN JOCKEY SMACKDOWN

9 judges would consist of 30% industry tech heads, 30%LCO's, 30%"weekend warriors"

    9 classes:

    ZTR Division:

"Big Dog" - Diesel 60" and above

    "Bird Dog" - 23hp+ 48" to 60"

    "Lap Dog" - <23hp "mini"'s

    Chaser Division:

    Hydro W/B 48" and above
    Hydro W/B 44" and below

Gear Drive W/B 48" and above
Gear Drive W/B 44" and below

    21" baggers
    21" mulchers

Picture a 20 acre battlefield with every mower known to mankind at the starting line...
    1st is a 50 yard dash...then a hill climb...then a wet grass bog...then obstacle course.
Mowers would be judged on cut quality, turf damage, elapsed time to finish, operator comfort & fatigue,
and the winner would be determined by best score weighted by MSRP.

So there you have it...a once-and-for-all throwdown to determine conclusively
the "Best Bang for your Buck" mower out there.

Ive thought about the same thing, HS. Tree guys, mechanics, hell-basketweavers have their own competitions....What about us. There needs to be a trimming contest as well.

I had one a few years back and it was a lot of fun. I can help with letting you know what worked for me. We had about 10, 12 competitors show up. We also had a local Stihl dealer donate prizes and had a cookout too.

The drag race was interesting. Guess which brand won that one.
