I read somewhere that someone over seeded with annual Rye in the spring, do they have to spray to get rid of it latter in the season or do you just leave it for the season. I live in an area where people stick a house in a paster and plow around it and call it a lawn. In the last few years we have had a lot of people moving in the area from out of state and I would like to get a jump on the lawn quality that they where use to.

i would use a mixture or blue grass, fine fescue and ray grass. eventually the predominant grass will take over. this is what I use in Northern MA.

I would leave the rye grass if you already used it but I would also ad some fine fescue and blue grass.
