    The site above (Jess Stryker's site) is a good place to start. IT will teach you the basics.

    For lesson #2, move on to THIS book;

    Rainbird Irrigation Design Manualf

    And a lot of great learning tools here too;

    Rainbird Irrigation Design Tools

    Also very important to fully understand Cross connection control. Not just which backflow devices are which - but actually understanding the different types of backflow, real life situations where these things could happen, which devices prevent which types of backflow, etc.

    Here's a great site that will explain all of that;
    EPA Cross Connection Control Manual

    Get your Toro distributor to set you up to go to Toro Univeristy and go to the week long Starite pump school in Delavin, WI.

    Purchase and read the Turf Irrigation Manual.

    Go to backflow training and get certified.

    Then, hire someone who knows irrigation to work with you.

    Irrigation installation is ok but learn how to do irrigation repair because that's where the money is.
