Would you buy a wright stander with 1,000 hours. What sort of problems would you expect to encounter. How many hours can a properly maintained kawi 15hp engine last. Should I look for something with less hours.

What size deck is the 15hp engine powering? 1,000 hours is not very much and the engine should go to 2500 pretty easily!

Well my 17hp Kaw on Stander went 1900 hours and lost a piston. And I maintained it :dizzy: Spindles go around 600hrs...and starter in less than 1000hrs.

There are a lot of variables to consider when you looking at it. You have to take into account how the previous owner maintained it, how hard it was worked, etc. If it was taken care of properly then you could probably expect around 2000 hours out of it.

If it has been taken care of I would buy it. I have two standers one with 1800 and on with 1700 hrs, have had both since new. Neither one of them have had anything big go out on them yet. Just regular wear items, belts, air filters, blades etc...
