I would love to have felt how HOT that tranny was after about 1 hour when the plastic cover was melted off. I am surprised the lights even came on. The secondary fusing of a Home Cheapo transformer works this way, When the house burns down and the line voltage melts away and falls apart, THEN the circuit for the lights will be interupted, thereby causing the lights to turn off. That is how you know you have overtaxed the transformer.
