Wisdom Eh?.....That is pure hogwash.A word of wisdom , don't get a trailer over 10,000 lbs or you will need a class a drivers license to pull it . I was informed of this by a NC dmv officer. My class c license wouldn't't cover my 10400 lbs trailer .
What else does it say on the back of your license? Because that is not all it says is it?Since you don't live in NC , you don't have a NC drivers license do you ? On our license it plainly states a class c license entitles you to pull up to a 10000 rated trailer but not over.
Only women?State officer said they bust women pulling horse trailers all the time because the trailer is rated over 10000 by the mgf sticker. But if it is hauling hay or corn etc it's fully exempt. Sometimes it all depends if the officer wants to write the citation. Dude if the black and silver blazer pulls you , they going to weigh you and check your paperwork , thay want your money.
LOLI only suggested they he not buy a 6 ton trailer,he can buy what ever he wants . but cp from the hand book .
Class A Required to operate any
combination of vehicles exempt from CDL
requirements with a gross vehicle weight
rating (GVWR) of 26,001 pounds or more,
provided the GVWR of the vehicle(s) being
towed is greater than 10,000 pounds. CP page 12
And thats not a CDL license. There are class a-b-c regular license and A-B C CDl licenses. Read the manual that you posted DUH
And around here it's mostly women pulling horse trailers because the men are at work making the money.
Regular Licenses
Class C Required to operate any single
vehicle that is not carrying hazardous material
in quantities required to be placarded or is
designed to carry no more than 15 passengers
including the driver with a GVWR of less
than 26,001 pounds; or any vehicle towing a
vehicle which has a combined GVWR of less
than 26,001 pounds.
:hammerhead:
I ask again then, is that all it said?Ok I hadn't read my new license that I renewed last week . But on my old license it does state the part about the 10000 lbs towed vehicle. So it changed since the DMV officer gave me the warning two yrs ago. So it it is now hose manure.
