Has anyone heard anything regarding the new line of engines Yamaha is now building for the Gravely and others? I am a big fan of Yamaha and I bet they are as good or better than Kawasaki.

There's a few threads and posts on here about them. So far, so good.

I'm in the process of making a purchase now and that Yamaha makes me want a Gravely. I'm getting the Scag TTII with the Vanguard but if I could wait I would.

If Gravely would open up their discharge chute....with the Yamaha perfect mower.

I'm probably replacing my two Gravelys this year. If I stick with Gravely, the only way I'll opt for the Yamaha is if its cheaper. I see no reason to replace Kawasaki for something more expensive since I've been running Kawsakis for years and they've always been excellent.

Yamaha makes outstanding engines. But why risk something to replace something else already very good?

Competition is good for consumers, if these Yamahas are an improvement, everyone will have to step up their game and there is always room for improvement.

I went for the test ride last Friday on a PT 260 with the Yamaha 825 carbureted version. I own a Gravely PT 152 and was looking forward to getting to run the 260 with more HP. Well I was disappointed as the Yahama was surging the whole time I was on it running WOT. Something had to of been wrong with the carb or needed to be adjusted. Really want to run the EFI version but all they had was carbed. It wasn't any quieter than the Kawi IMO.
