I bought an encore 48" belt from a friend for $150. It had a blown kholer on it. I waited and watched online for a deal on a motor. Found a kawi on craigslist used for $200. I bought it. I striped the machine down, repainted, installed motor, new trans belt, and sharpened blades. I have a like new machine for about $400. It was a fun project. But make sure you get the parts cheap or its not worth it. The mower runs and cuts like a champ.
