Has anyone tried different tires on a ZTR so see if a particular tread might reduce the chance of turf damage?

I holed a sidewall and needed a quick replacement.
To order the 4-ply Turf Master tires would cost a weeks downtime, so I ran 2-ply Turf Saver tires....

All was happy and good....until I began replacing the 2-ply Turf Safers...

See the Turf Savers are 2 ply, and have an agressive tread....
and worked pretty good. However, they are.....

Thin, thin, thin, and as a result, cost more than the premium 4-ply Turf Master in the long run...due to flats being unrepairable....
and having to buy new tires...

I ordered the last new 2-ply Turd Saver tire, to use until the

4-ply Turf Master that I recently orderd arrived.

I have a stack of these cheap 2-ply Turd Saver tires....

The 4-ply Turf Master lacks the traction the Turf Saver affords, however, they are heavier in construction,

The sidewalls flex less on a slope, which leaves a finer even finish while slope mowing.

The 4-ply Turf Master will not damage turf as easily as the Turf Saver....go figure that....

The 2-ply Turf Saver is standard on just about all home owner tractor type mowers...

    I shouda known better...
