I just noticed that there is a greenish tube not connected to anything on my lazer hp. It looks like it runs from the back of the engine (near/under the air filter), along the left side (if you're looking from the rear), and then it just stops as if it were cut off. It is a thicker tube, green in color. (not electrical) Any ideas?

If your engine is a Kawasaki, I think it is a vent tube.

thanks guys

what about the leak near the spark plug and wire? Does anyone know what could be causing this and how to fix it? I'm already behind due to all this rain, so I'd rather not have to take it in to the shop. Thanks again

From what i remember, when you drained the oil on an hp it would go all over. But i can be wrong. My friends new lawn tractor came with a hose to put on the oil drain plug so it would go into a can and not all over the engine plate. My gravely 's 15 Kohler had a hose clamped on it too you would pull it out and put it into what you used to collect the oil.

That was a friend of mine that did that. He had it for a few years. We did the plowing on it.
All I can say, is that for them to switch over, especially at this time of year, the price must have been right! Is that someone you know, or did you just happen to bid that?
Anyway, we went through there afterwards, and I must say, we both agreed. You did a nice job in there! Keep it up, and good luck with it!
I DO just want you to know, that there is no bad feelings with my friend that was doing it, and he doesn't mind at all. He is a great guy, and is way bigger (as a person) than that. you'll perhaps meet him, sometime.

Thanks for the compliments Runner. The lady there named Stacey is an aquaintance of the family. We got to talking one day and she mentioned that they were not in a contract with any lawn company but had someone that was doing it, and they were now accepting bids for the 2004 season. I do admit that it was a bit late for commercial accounts to be makind decisions. She in no way hinted that she was dissatisfied with her current company. She asked for a bid, and I gave her one. The only part that stinks (literally) is emptying the garbage cans up near the store fronts. I found 2 diapers. Completely full of baby matter. It got on my pants and I smelled all day long. Anyways, it's good to know that his take on this is a positive one. It's all just friendly competition. SOunds like a really good guy. Be sure to pass the story on about teh diaper, he can have a good laugh at my expense!
