I love Deere mowers. Grandpa and his dad worked for them for their whole careers and we have never had any issues with them. I think a lot of the bad stuff you hear is from the guys that don't care for their stuff a lot and its like that for every brand.
This was a Wright era stander though, I can not speak for the new ones yet
