Hey guys.... and gals... Just wondering about all the different areas out there on how many weeks on average you get to mow per year and what grasses your cutting mostly. I know south Florida is probably year around with the temps and grasses there. Here we are about 26-28 weeks with some fesque, but mostly bermuda.

thanx......:alien:

Omaha,Ne--28 mowings early April thru Oct. However my average start for spring steady work is march 17 and have started March 1st. fall cleanups thru Nov. Crazy weather, had cold and snow 8" for first two weeks of Dec. Now it's 48 and sunny on Jan 1.06. Worked the last two weeks of Dec. Highs in summer in the 90's and winters can be below 0 with no problem.

32-35 weeks of mowing. Usually from Mid to late March to mid to late October. I go from mowing directly into fall cleanups and they last till about mid to late Dec. Usually about 2-3 snows in there from Jan till early March and then its back to mowing.

Virginia zone 8, average 16 cuts a year.
Lowest is 7, highest is 25 (by lawn).

What do you guys do, cut it every time it grows 1/4 of an inch? I don't have time to cut that much, my stuff is usually ankle high (4-5 inches, sometimes 6) before I can get around to it... No wonder this country has fuel issues.
