I just signed up to take the NC commercial applicator tests (N.C. Pesticide Laws & Regulations and the Ornamentals and Turfgrass Pest Control).

After taking everyone's advice I finally got the right information and I do need the license. So I'm hoping to knock it out quick. I should be getting my books soon.

I passed the basic test, but failed the Turf and Ornamental the first time. I would take the basic and turf test first and then take any other tests one at a time.

The basic test wasn't too hard, but trying to take all the tests at once is alot to remember.

I'm reading the ornamental and right of way books now and will take these tests later. I would study and take the tests in the winter when business is slow.

If you take the class they offer, they pretty much tell you what to know that will be on the test. Read the books before and the class will be a review, if you do that the test should be cake. I thought it was pretty easy, I took it about two years ago.
That's what I've heard. If you take the class, they basically tell you what the questions will be and it's easy.

I didn't take the class, but had to remember everything in the books without knowing what questions would be asked. If I had to do it over, I would take the class. I'm in Virginia, so the test may be different.*trucewhiteflag*

From what I understand, the tests are pretty similar state to state and if it is like the DE youll have no problem. If you have a pulse and can stay awake through at least half the class you will be fine. Just dont stress about it.
