I live in south mississippi, where the weather is mostly very warm. My question is what the word on tanaka and makita commerial trimmers? Are they worth getting? Do they have any problems? Alot of feed back would be help me out alot. thanks

Robin make a lot of the equipment for Makita and Dolmar. You will find the big 75cc 4 cycle blower and their 25cc 4 cycle trimmer are all the same. My understanding is their engine are Subaru. So yes they are very good.

I snagged this Tanaka gas drill on Ebay for $185 shipped, list is near $600. It was listed as a Pro Force brand there wasn't much interest. I know it's not a trimmer but it's a cool piece of equipment and it runs and looks new. :)

Man, I've been wanting one of these--no idea what I would use it for, but a gas powered drill--how cool does it get!!!!!:)

Bought a TBC-280PF this year and like it so much I bought another. Beats Kawasaki and Echo in my opinion. The only other brand I'd consider is Redmax.

Do a search on Tanaka and you'll find several recent posts, including a review by Richard Martin on a new Tanaka Trimmer. I bought one and haven't used it much, but it is very light, well balenced and plenty powerful for light to medium work. They have a rebate going that brings the price down to about $160, but getting them to send you the rebate is a bear. Also, it seems dealer support is spread thin. Hopefully, we won't need it!
