I Have had 10,000 fliers printed and they came with a little sticky strip located on the back! I have had individulas call me and state that paint came off when they pulled the flier off the mailbox. So Any suggestions for attatching fliers to mailboxes would be greatly appreciated? Thanks

If the customer painted the mailbox themselves that will happen. But I would do a search of the many posts here about putting flyers on or in mailboxes. It is actually illegal, technically the mailbox is considered federal property. Some postmasters will have their carriers remove all adds from the boxes (wether on or in it) as they are delivering their mail. They can then fine you for each and every add they pick up, and it adds up quick. Each postmaster/post office enforces this policy differently, some go by the book others could care less. But atleast you are not putting it in the box, it is actually a felony to open or put anything in a mailbox unless it is yours or you are a postal carrier. i would just walk up the driveway and put the fleyer on the door, or if they have a box near the mailbox for the news paper you can use that

If I'm correct, painters tape won't rip off paint and it's still strong too. That's what I used, I just made small rolls with an inch or two of tape and put it on the back of the flyer. I then stacked the flyers together in stacks of 25 (to keep count of how many I passed out) and since they were pre-taped, passing them out was a breeze 
This method may take a long time though if you have to tape 10,000 flyers.

what i did was. With a passenger in the truck, at night, pull up to the mailboxes, fold the flyer in half or roll up and wedge it between the flag and mailbox. I am not opening the mailboxes and if they are open i just move on to the next one. I thought that was the most productive method

you cant touch the mailbox or any part including the flag.
you can rubber band it to the post.

we have had the best results with this: have the printer make 3 flyers per page,(8.5x11) print front and back..put them in a 3mill thick bag with a small marble chip as a weight...heat seal or staple the top shut...have a passenger ride and toss at the base of each mailbox or end of driveway..the potential customer has to be able to get your msg on the way to the trash can...if they have to unfold/open something you are wasting your time....be persistant, keep doing the same areas every month for up to a year....it will work well if you do it right...also, stay away from the fancy four color picture type printing...a bright solid color cardstock and black ink stands out way more and in most cases is much easier to read.

im pretty sure the usps is a now a privately owned company now with NO ties to the federal government in any way anymore (so my mailman said?)
It's a federal agency but run much like a privet company. They basically run in a grey area between government and privet were they get the best of each aspect. For example they can hire any contractor, sub contractor, service company they want without putting it to bid like a privet company, but if they want to build a new post office they can purchase the land through emenent domain. So they do not have all of the red tape that other agencies have, this is because they are mostly privetly founded through the sale of stamps. Very little of their budget comes from tax dollars. But either way, the thing that effects us most is that their enforcement of laws and regulations is on a federal level. Which is why sending some forms of contraband through USPS is a felony while sending the same item through UPS/FedEx is not

We have had plenty of mailbox threads. They always lead to arguing. Do a search. Here is a link to the Federal law concerning mailboxes. I would call your local Postmaster before touching other peoples mail boxes. Plenty of mail theft going on:
