Ok, so what is the key to adjusting the engine to T box belt? Is it a certain distance from edge of frame to center of idler pulley bolt?

Separate questions. To replace the belt, it appears you have to remove the triangular plate, take it apart, insert the new belt, reattach the triangular plate and put the belt on the other pulleys. Is this correct? Do you have to move the engine on the frame to get the belt on and then reposition the engine adjusting for the t box belt? Also, how is this new belt adjusted since the only adjustment appears to be by moving the engine which also re-adjusts the engine to T box or am I missing something?

I have a copy of the Part manual and the Belts and Pulleys manual but I don't have a service manual. Are those available?

In general, because of a difference in the way belts are measured by the manufacturer, it's ALWAYS best to carry your old belt with you when trying to find a replacement, .

When stating the length of an "A" "B" or "C" width belt, some belt manufacturers use inside diameter measurements, while others use outside diameter measurements. This difference in the way belts are measured results in a 2.1 inch difference in length (on an A belt).

So, an "A 46" can actually be 46" in length or, 48.1" in length, depending on who the manufacturer is. When it comes to mowers and other small equipment this is usually enough difference to prevent the 2 belts from being interchangeable, so another trip to the store is required, and of course, more time is involved.

If you're like me and order a lot of belts over the phone or online, you can make a list of which manufacturers use "ID" measurements, and which use "OD" measurements. Otherwise it's a toss up as to whether or not you'll get the actual length you need.

Hope this saves someone some time in the future. Stan

My belt is in numerous pieces so taking it to measure isn't an option. I don't even know if I found all of the pieces.

Anyone know what the outside diameter is supposed to be for a 9907B85/2006B85W?
Your best route may be to look at the mower specs, which should include the belt size(s).

Richard, I guess you may have missed my questions.

I've got the belt on order - thanks for that.

I did miss your questions.

You want to adjust the engine to T gear belt idler so it is 2" away from the frame.

You do not remove the triangle plate, just loosen one of the pullies to replace the engine to deck belt.

The engine to deck belt is correct when the engine to T gear box belt is correct. There are no other adjustments.

Just blew the deck belt on my Ferris.Last one I bought from dealer cost 100 bucks.Well I will be getting a new one in the morning but also ordered one from ebay for 60 bucks with free shipping. Will try it,make sure it works and keep it as an emergency spare. With all the rain we have had I needed to catch up today but lost the day because of the broken belt.Kinda hard keeping a spare 100 dollar belt lying around.
