Anyone use a DynaDiggr?

I'm mostly curious how it handles on hard roots from maples and locust trees.

I'm hoping it would be great for removing the hard labor and backhoe use on removing/transplanting decade(s) old bushes.

Yes i have 2 of them, they have paid for themselves,.trick is to keep the spade sharp as possible they will bounce on thick root but with experience you can cut through. the brisco co. Who makes them Has excellent support for parts and service. I use a cordless sawsall in conjunction with the dyna.

These are not cheap tools their extremely well built, their also heavy as hell the steel they use for the main housing is about as thick as what a skid steer is made of their are other attachments for them as well,

How thick of a root causes bounce? 1"? 3"? 1/2" 6"? Would it be hell to cut a 6" root from a tree stump?

Nevermind, just looked at the website.

I told my buddy about these when I came across them online. He called and no one answered. Left two messages and no one called back. He doesn't mind forking out good money for a good product but if the thing breaks down and he needs parts are they going to answer the phone or return a call? Not good customer service from what he encountered. Might be a great tool but they need to work on service.

I haven't purchased one yet but when I called and left a message it was promptly returned and the young lady gave me all the info I needed and explained that they are swamped and behind in manufacturing (4 week backlog). I do plan on purchasing one.

What do you use them for?

In the morning, what job would you consider appropriate to load this machine on the truck for?

This year and the last job i used them on was digging a large hole for a tree. Before that job it assisted with digging a long trench in the hardest clay soil i ever encountered for a down spout drain where we couldn't bring a machine in. Before that transplanting 15 decent sized perfect azaleas then transplanted rhododendrons and arbs, i put a tamper attachment on it and we back filled a main water line for a house. Pulled up a granite step and recompacted the base material for a repair where our full size compactor would not fit. The sucker is heavy after awhile you have fun with it for the first 1/2 hr. Then give the machine to the strong guy on the crew.

We have some chainlink fencing to repair the line posts are bent from the blizzard we had last year and they are sunk in concrete we may have to hand dig them all but i may try the dyna just to take the edge off the labor i wonder how it will do
