Hello all. As title says, after months of working with my mower a friend suggested a woodruff key, long story short the little bugger was sheared. I had the flywheel off and cleaned the stator while it was in the open. Also noticed a magnent was loose while it was open so I epoxied it back on. I put the modules back with spacing to spec and now have gone from amazing spark to none. I have been racking my brain and cannot figure this out. If anything comes to mind any/all help would be appreciated. I posted same question on old post but I figure I should update post title to be more accurate with my issue at hand. Thanks in advance

the spacing is correct as per the service manual, as far as trying to pull the kill wire I was trying to do that as well but I oculdnt find the color matchups in the service manual. The 2 colors at hand are yellow and brown

Look in the manual I posted. The conventional coils use a white wire. You may have one of the two other ignition systems. There should be a diagram with the color of the kill wire

Ok we did try to turn it over with the white wire disconnected, still no spark. I do not understand what happened. We had AMAZING spark before hand. We took the flywheel off again, this time also the stator and cleaned behind it as well. Before we cleaned the stator is was so covered with gunk you could not see copper so I was wondering if it was possible we pushed some gunk behind it and was causing issues. We now have to flywheel back together and the modules spaced correctly (.011 I think, manual not in front of me) as per the manual. We have left the housing and shaft off but my mechanic friend said that wouldn't cause lack of spark. We are really at a loss here. This dang mower is breaking my heart. Im trying to read through the 88 page manual but nothing is jumping out at me. Thanks again for any/all replies

If you disconnected the white kill wire, then there is no way for the coils to be grounding out either by the key switch or safety. I would suggest testing your coils as per the manual. There are three types of ign systems. Conventional, Smart Spark and DSIA. I believe the DSIA requires a 12v feed to the ign module, if you have that style ign system. Check which one you have and test accordingly.
 
With yellow and brown wires going to each coil, ya got the analog smart-spark system. With that system you shouldn't have a white kill wire. IDK whats up with that. Page 36 will get ya the engine wiring diagram. All the wires have to be hooked up with power to the asam for it to work. Most mechanics with practical experience would know that DSAI systems require a three wire plug in and have a rather large fixed module to flywheel gap, so ya don't have that system.
A standard mag coil just uses a white kill wire.
So, if you do indeed have the Yel./Brn. wires at the coils, then ASAM is what ya got.
Basically a PIA to troubleshoot and work on.

Was the loose magnet from the alt side? Cause basically that has nothing to do with the ign system. But of course ya gotta have good voltage to keep the ign goin'.
