Here is the new Shindaiwa EB910. Same as the Echo PB8010. Probably shouldn't have but with Shindaiwa's 20% off fleet week sale and selling my 8010 for a good price, I couldn't resist. Early observations:
  • A little heavier than the 8010 but much more comfortable. The straps are great.
  • The engine seems to run smoother than the 8010
  • The tube is longer but seems to be a bit narrower than the 8010
  • You can see the increased air speed and air volume but it's not a huge increase over the 8010. Feels like a small step up.
  • Air stream seems more focused than the 8010 so debris moves forward not up into the air as much as the 8010 did.
  • We'll see how the unit performs once it breaks in and once we get into leaves next fall but so far so good.

I have the same blower but it's in the shop now for the second time for not running right. It'll run fine for about 15 to 20 minutes and then it starts bogging. When it's running fine it's a beast.

The biggest thing I did for the comfort of wearing the blower is a fix 2 velcro straps on top part of the chest straps. It makes a huge difference.

I just now noticed that you said the 910 instead of the 810. Reading comprehension is for dummies haha.

I just got one too and have used it for a couple days. Makes my maruyama bl9000 and my husqvarna 580 seem kind of weak by comparison.

While comfortable to wear It's a bit of a handful compared to my other 2 blowers but they felt that way too when I first got them so I guess I'll get used to it. Starts with less effort than the other two and moving large amounts of leaves is noticeably better. It has the air speed of the bl9000 with what feels like twice as much volume.

This is the first blower I've had where the "back cooling" feature is actually noticeable...I don't notice much up to about 3/4 throttle but that last 1/4 throttle I can really feel it pulling air across my back, enough so that I'm a little worried it's gonna suck my shirt into the impeller:nod:

Is there a middle section of that tube that can be removed to make it shorter overall? I've done this w/ all my blowers to make it easier to wield - and it's also easier to transport & store. The loss of performance in doing this is easily forgivable, imo.

prefer the 9010'/910's also. There's been 3 generations now. The 8010 Classic, The 8010/810 Upgraded Flex Tube Version and now the 9010/910. I believe the Classic puts out the most raw air but the 9010 is definitely more useable.

Its running rich. I had 2 that did similar last Summer. Dealer did some Mumbo Jumbo on the carbs and they start and run perfect now. Also could be gas tank cap is not venting but I'm sure you opened it to let breathe and tried to run it after. If not....duh

Yeah man I got it back and it's running great. My dealer said that it had a defective fuel filter and of course they readjusted the carb. I hate hate hate these new EPA carbs.

Actually, a shorter tune on a BP speeds up the airflow due to less drag/friction in the tube. I have a very short tube for my BR800X and it blows a bit wider, but ever so slightly faster. The ONLY reason I don't leave it on full time is because the tube is so short, light and handy with it, going to my other full length blowers makes them feel very unwieldy.

I like the telescopic tube on the BR800C so it can be adjusted as needed.

A lot of guys do and I won't knock anyone that does, but I just happen prefer the one mine has over the telescoping version which was one big reason I went with the X. That and the fact it is several pounds lighter. I really love my BR800 overall, especially compared to the 8010 I also own.

If they are smart, they'll bypass the 900 moniker and call it the BR1000, BR10X or something like that to make it look like an even bigger gain n in performance. since everyone is into the 1000+ cfm game these days.

All I know is I love my 800X and would jump at a new model that was built the same/looked the same, just had more cfm and mph to match or come close to the Echo's and/or whatever RM comes out with. The 800 is IMHO, the best all around BP out right now. It is close enough to the big Echos for 95% of all use that nothing else is needed except for the worst case situations of heavy, deep and/or very wet leaves and even then it isn't a slouch.

I love my 800x as well. Very comfortable, good on fuel for such a big motor, and the concentrated air flow keeps debris under control. As you see, apart from moving piles of big leaves in the fall, it is a really good blower. Stihl did a good job on it. I only wish they would make better trimmers that were closer to the quality and functionality of the 800x.
