I am thinking of doing that here in my yard, it is so dry and there is some erosion.....I was just starting to look into it...this will be interesting....

More information--if you read all the details on the Outsidepride site.
Microclover and miniclover both add nitrogen to the soil continually.
Healthy for the soil.
And helps out the bees.
A green crop. Sustainable and protects the soil over the long term.

Power rake and spread seed.

We did a project like this last season. Removed about 1000' of turf. Installed some gardens. Created paths of clover. Client didn't want to mow that area and still wanted some green.

It's really tough to apply white clover evenly. The seeds are tiny. You don't want to cover them with more that like 1/4". Seeds are cheap. We need to put more down this season.

If you're over seeding turf with it, mix it with grass seed and spread with walk behind spreader. If ONLY applying clover, can't effectively use spreader because they're so small.

I spread acres and acres of clover on the farm. Broadcast spreader behind a model 71 Cub Cadet pulling a spreader I built in AG class. Duals on the Cub, in high gear a whopping 8 mph spreading the clover in winter wheat. Did it year after year. You don’t have to work it in or cover it. As long as the seeds touch soil, they’ll germinate. Now is the best time to do it. (Or it is in my area.)

But, like I said, I’ll not do it. I want it out of my yard. I can’t imagine why people would want it instead of grass.

For ag pasture seeding, they broadcast it in February or whenever your freeze/thaw happens..

It's an old school way of seeding a lawn that is starting to make a comeback with the naturalists.
An added benefit is that nitrogen is a natural source derived from clover.

Its also very thick and green so a good look with fairly low maintenance most of the year. We spread it on as buffer zones to keep field spray back off of property lines. Its also decent to mix in for hay fields. The way it takes here Id imagine you could potentially overseed with a broadcaster and get it to germ well enough.

We got called out to do a quote to install clover seeds to a lawn. This is something that I have never done or heard of before.

Has anyone done it before and do you have any input about how to do it?
Haven't seen the seed in any stores. Site one, will look at me like I'm crazy. So just getting the seed . Sounds to be a task itself.
I do imagine that, it would have to be mowed low. Depending how thick the lawn is. If it even takes.
The only place I see lots of clover. Is around my trailer and dumpster. Where I have been cutting it with the string trimmer. Down to dirt. Every so often.

After I complete a job like this.
I would walk away.
Thinking it have to be kept scalped.
As the clover fills in.
This is something I have never looked into.

I am not going to use a spreader, just hand sow it in small areas at first, see how it does.....
This is how it should be done. The seeds are very small. If just spreading clover seed, do this by hand. You can use a broadcast spreader if the clover is mixed with grass seed but to suggest otherwise (as some have) is a bad idea born out of inexperienced youth.

Seed clover mix is an option that is certainly not required. As with everything the applications vary. In our app grass of any kind was not desired.

Thats right Mark I suggestrd something you dont agree with. My 40 year youth and decades of experience are what it was born out of. Keep on trolling me. You sent me private messages this morning calling me a whiney 20 some year old so im not surprised you are no trolling me. You are wrong.
