I am looking to upgrade my mower for next season and was hoping to get some thoughts on the mower. I had about 14 properties this year only working one day a week, next year I'm looking for about 40+ lawns per week working full time. My mower is much too small to be doing that many lawns and I have been keeping my eye on marketplace looking for a deal. I had labrum (hip) surgery last march, so I am looking for something comfortable. There is a 2020 Ferris ISX800 with the 27 hp Briggs and Stratton with 190 hours for sale about an hour from me on marketplace. Its an older guy, so well maintained mower, who said he'd come down to $5,700 if I can get it before he goes to Florida. I was going to spend about 8k-10k on a new Exmark radius with whatever features that money could get me. I do like the idea of saving a few thousand getting a used higher quality mower. Looking for some opinions on if I should get the Ferris, get a new Exmark, or wait for a better deal to pop up on marketplace? Thank You in advance any advice is much appreciated!

Not a Ferris guy, but that machine looks a lot beefier than an exmark radius to me.

The biggest factor when buying a mower is dealer support. All the major players have comparable models, but if you have to drive an hour for a Ferris part due to lack of dealer support, that mower isn’t for you. Whatever brand you go with needs to have a local dealer that you like and can work with. If you have a local Ferris dealer the. That looks like a pretty good deal (unless some Ferris guys know something about that model that is problematic)

As a snapper/Ferris operator I’d jump on it as long as it was clean. Take it to the dealer get everything checked over before you buy and change all the fluids. Checks the connection on the hydro's. As long as it has the vanguard you should be good to go.

Vanguard is not offered on 800s. Its kawft730 or bs commercial turf which is what this has.
