Anyone know who makes these? They charge like $14 bucks for a filter.

I've used the cross reference list many times, i'm really wondering if there's a direct replacement that you guys use, i know stens has one, not sure on the number but it's identical size. I'd prefer to use one with identical size. Also, contrary to what you just stated RIdin' Green, my motor has the room for either of the filters, yet it calls for the number i provided which is the smaller of the 2. Does anybody have any numbers for a direct replacement with near the same dimensions? I don't really like using bigger or smaller filters, i've used the cross reference charts for things in the past and have found taht i end up with a filter that's not even close to the same width or legnth.

I'm telling you that both are the exact same thing except for length. I have machines that use the short one and some that use the long one. I can switch the short one out for the long one always, but not vica versa for the machines that are tight on room and require the short filter.

I am not guessing on this either. It is fact. Any Kawi dealer will tell you so as well. If yours calls for a specific part # , I'm betting it is the # for the longer filter as that's the way most manu's that make room for one go when listing part numbers for replacement parts

Like I said above, you can take your # or a filter in to a Napa and they will match it up.

On Napa parts lookup, this is the part # for the Napa oil filter for the Kawi FX730V which uses the same oil filter as all Kawi engines

NAPA Filters
Some people actually care to have a decent filter on their machine. Some oil filters only filter down to like 40 microns, so if I'm going to spend the money on something I want it to actually do a good job, otherwise why bother messing with it at all? Just saying.

I see what you mean by just buying an entire case of oil filters to get a bulk discount, but I prefer to buy the oil and filters as needed, so that way people can see that the machine was maintained.

I use Napa gold or platinum (sometimes platinum is on sale) been using them for long time (1100 hours on kohler, 250 on kawasaki) never had issue. They actually filter more dirt than the kawasaki and cost half as much. I do keep a Kawasaki in the drawer in case I ever have engine failure I'll switch them before going to dealer
