Around rocks I prefer the stihl head over the speed feed head. The speed feed just lets out to much line banging on rocks. I like the oregon gator line .095 l(blue stuf) line for rocks and it pulls the weeds out without breaking

 

I don't know what your head will take but the next common size up is 0.105, you use 0.095, not 0.95, it would be almost an inch thick.

 

I use a plastic flail-blade trimmer for stuff like that, the Echo Maxi-Cut. Then I go back over it with .105 line to get anything I missed. It should fit Husqvarna trimmers. There's a couple different models and a Shindaiwa one too. I know it fits my 323 Husqvarna trimmer. The blades do wear and break but blade (knife) replacement is simple. I carry extras in my pocket along with a stubby flat-head screwdriver. It will handle stalky weeds and small vines and not splatter the crap out of you on the juicy weeds like string does. Not sure this is the exact model you'd need. Good for up to a year or so worth of growth. If it's more than that it won't handle it.

I think I'd go to the .130" line for that use. That sounds like what you probably used before if it barely fit through the trimmer eyes.

 

Heck, go for broke, they make 0.170 line, I have a head that holds 4 of them at once :hammerhead:

Spraying is after knocking everything down. Property owner (municipality) wants everything as short as possible.

Hey brother- Just by looking at the pics, if it were me, I'd trim it from the bottom to the top. Looks like it's shorter distance that way Thumbs Up:laugh:

I plan to work top to bottom working across a row and then down and across and so on. The trimmers we will be using are heavy, and hiking uphill carrying them in the sun saps energy. Start is this Monday and it will be hot; we’ll see how far we get.
