Were Red Wing still making "Red Setters" ankle tops made in the USA, I'd wear them. Wore them for fifty years with regular oil. Bought a pair of RW slip-ons a few years ago, they were of cheap construction and did not fit worth a damn. Guess where they make them now?

For the money, I don't imagine the TS duck boots can be all that. From their own website, Itasca has a duck boot more like the LL Bean version (the TS duck boot has a lugged sole) and priced much higher than the TS duck.

For the really wet condition>>> Muck chore cool. You can get them with a vibram sole for around $150. They hold up very well.

Otherwise, i'm in Danner quarries. $300 or so, and i've had mine for 5 years or so. I'll get another year out of them. If i took better care of them, i would guess i could get 10 years out of them.
