Being in this industry for awhile now and I've had every brand of work boot imaginable and everyone of the "waterproof" work boot has failed to live up to expectations. I've had from the cheapest of cheap starting out "brazos" Walmart brand to cabelas brands and every brand in between! My last pair of timberland pros lasted for a good year or year and a half but it is time to chuck them in the trash can. I'm thinking of grabbing another pair of them but I'd like to ask your opinion on what y'all wear? Suggestions are very welcomed!

Is there such a device as a water proof work boot?
For turn ons and blow outs I use a high pair of rubber Kamiks. For installs its the 240$ Chippewas that start to fall apart after 4 installs. Usually I get a new pair annually.

Once it warms up, I'm in sandals myself. Or shoes I can easily remove and put back on, as the shut off handles are usually inside the homes here.

3 winters ago I bought a pair of mucks, a pair of ducks and a pair of theromlites (muck Boot copycat).
I still have the mucks and the thermolites.

Were Red Wing still making "Red Setters" ankle tops made in the USA, I'd wear them. Wore them for fifty years with regular oil. Bought a pair of RW slip-ons a few years ago, they were of cheap construction and did not fit worth a damn. Guess where they make them now?

For the really wet condition>>> Muck chore cool. You can get them with a vibram sole for around $150. They hold up very well.
Otherwise, i'm in Danner quarries. $300 or so, and i've had mine for 5 years or so. I'll get another year out of them. If i took better care of them, i would guess i could get 10 years out of them.

* havent read thread so dont know if these brought up . but i dont buy expensive boots so've never owned any these cat boots . but i see them at store and try them on and have always thought theyre a real good boot :
