Best way to weed eat a long ditch

Ok I have my style. Just wondering how you would handle this ditch. It is at least a 1/4 mile long, about 2 feet deep and at least 6 feet wide. There are times that it has water in it and is rather soggy. I've never had my Z stuck in it and, prefer not to. I carry no push mowers just weed eaters and my Zero turns. I only use my Stihl 110 straight shaft weed eaters. As a rule it takes me less than an hour. Usually, I make one pass walking the right side not standing in the ditch making a very large steady swipe. The owner of the property has told me to let it go every other mow. I can't do that. Why only mow half of it? I could spray it to slow it down, but won't. I'm not interested in pushing it with a mower, then go back over it with a weed eater. I believe, I can run my weed eater faster than a mower with less misery. When doing it, I am turned slightly to the left, starting with my arms going left across, down in the ditch up the left side then repeat on the return swipe I have my style and it seems to work. It always looks clean and the grass is even and not all choppy. I'm just wondering if somebody might have a better way to do it? Thank you in advance.

Without a pic, it's really hard to determine exactly how to attack it.

You say you don't want to mow it. However, I use a Lawn Boy on nearly all my ditches. I have a couple nasty, long ones, too. I, also, mow a lot of lakeside properties that have stupidly, steep slopes. The great things about a Lawn Boy are: they're really light and have aggressive tires that allow them to billy goat hills and slopes; the offset front wheel allows it to sidehill about anything by crabbing along (I hold the handle with one hand); they'll run on their side and not do engine damage; they're cheap to find and repair. There's no possible way you can string trim as fast as I can mow. Trust me, I've timed it both ways. Also, the only thing left to string trim is the culvert areas. If they're rocked, I spray them. If there's standing water in the ditch, I don't touch whatever is standing in the water; it's not my fault the ditch holds water.

I have a long ditch 2 ways I do it 1 way if bottom dry I walk the bottom backwards and sweeping trim the side the My FS 130 is hanging on me Yes I run bruchcutters for trimmers
2nd way my 2 guys and myself Each will take a pass and a person will sweat less this way My trimmers cut path is around 16'' I like doing this way on hot days

Thanks Guys. Just to clarify.
I swore off Lawn Boys many years ago. I've had 3 of them and none for about 15 years. Growing up they were great. I grew to hate those mowers though.
This is a very large property and the ditch is only a small part of it. I work in a circle, cutting down on trips back and forth getting another piece of equipment. I only make one pass on the entire ditch. Not 2 or 3. It's a long way back to the trailer to get another piece of equipment. I keep my steps to a minimum. That is why I say, I feel as though the NET TIME is less with just the weed eater VS. making 2 runs down each side, then going to get the weed eater to finish the middle. My one pass just became 2-6 passes. When the ditch is done, in my circle the building is next. I then finish ending back at the truck. I do take a little 5 minute break along the way in the shade.
I am not interested or have the need for another piece of equipment to hook up maintain and swear at. Usually it is just me and my only helper, my brother. We are both older than dirt and go a little slower than some. He mows, I trim. The backwards thing on occasion I will do for a step or two but, that is it. This is a very busy road with much truck traffic. When I get hit by one of them, he and I need to see each others reaction. If my back is to him he and I will miss half of the fun. The torque will be the same as I am cutting on a pass back and another pass forth. (Back and forth). 6 feet swath per step. I would how ever be up be open to a different weed eater. I am unsure about being tethered with a strap. I fear I will not be able to take a full swing like I do now. I suppose now I should inform you that I have COPD. I tire pretty easily, run out of gas but, for some reason when I have a weed eater in my hands and I am swinging back and forth in my zone, life is good. Just looking for a better way to dance and sway with my girl.
