Any body heard about this apparently theres a guy in tenn. that started a lawn service using women in bikinis for workers and says business is out of control. The guy I talked to says he heard it on the radio they were interviewing the guy?? If he did make enough noise to make it on the radio then maybe its true?? Also said he was charging at times double what the average is.......if this is true WOW.

This has been posted about - around 12 times in the last week and a half. The concept is nothing new,...the one company - has been around for a few years.
Just another form of exploitation. No different than the guys that have the topless housecleaning services and such, and pimp the women out to do that. as lomng as there are girls out there ditzy enough o exploit themselves, there will always be these types of businesses.

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/19901693/ I saw this today, that's funny! Also notice the comment about there being no interest in a male version. As for me I enjoy my remote controlled lawnmower and air conditioning!
Great post............and sorry didnt know it had been discussed soooo many times before,to whom it aggravates. On here daily never seen it .

Never seen any of these hard bodies (except for some customers)....... cuz up here, they're corn fed! The closest thing I see here are the Hawkeye cheerleaders on the football field at Kinnick Stadium. The ISU cheerleaders are also corn fed....LOL By the way, we have two female applicaors -- not bad, but not Playboy material. You've all heard of "six-pak" guys (abs), yet most female greenskeepers here are six-pak women (I ain't talkin' abs either).

I wouldn't be surprised if it's double...but I'd have to think most customers would want to be home :) when they mow, so I bet they have to set appointments...so they probably don't mow as many lawns as an average LCO. They just make the same gross

As far as the exploitation...don't bother me at all...pretty tame compared to some other things IMO.

Bingo.

I'm too stupid and have no business sense to run a LCO, so I'll take advantage of moronic men who can't see scantily clad women unless they pay for them.

Same thing as a strip joint in a sense. I have never nor would I ever give a dime to see a naked woman or even one in a bikini when a) I can get a GF easily enough and b) if I want to see women in bikinis, all I have to do is go to the beach or a waterpark.

For what these idiots pay, they could get a REAL LCO to do a proper and correct job on their property. Or, they could pay a LOT less(cover charge) and sit their dumb ass in a strip joint for a few hours.

My thing is, and I am kind of a saftey nut to begin with, how can they get away with mowing in what they wear?

Not only is the guy exploiting them, he is putting them in real danger.

I'm guessing they do not have insurance, as one of the first things my insurance agent asked me was if I had a formal saftey program.

If one of those girls gets hurt, OSHA is going to have a field day.

I do not have a full time employee yet, but when I have hired guys for part time work and ordered temps, I always make them wear proper saftey equipment, glasses (sometimes a full face shield), ear protection, gloves if needed, ect. and wear all this stuff myself.

My sister in law works for me (the last 2 years). I think she is pretty hot looking. I eve told her about the bikini mowers to see what she thought. I even told her that need to take some advertising pics, so she needed to get into a bikini and start using the trimmer. she just gave me a look. She wears shorts every day, and enjoys mowing and swimming. Maybe one day..........

I forwarded the website address to the Kansas City OSHA office. They e-mailed me back saying they are going to look into the saftey codes they are violating, as well as the others popping up around the country.

If they are going exploit women, at least they are going to do it with pants, saftey glasses, boots, ect on.

I actually think (Legally) the bikini top is not an issue, but if the manufacturer of the string trimmer they are using says they require long pants in the saftey manual, that is what they wil have to wear. Aling with eat and eye protection as mandated by OSHA.

Exploitation is exploitation and should not be allowed no matter how much money you can make doing it. I will do everything possible to stop this nonsense. Why would we want to make our business look like we are chauvinistic pigs. I'm working hard to increase the perception of our industry and people like this are trying to make us look like we are idiots and womanizers. I am your worst enemy. My business and the industry mean too much to allow this type of exploitation. If you want to look at women this way that's your choice, but please don't tie it to our industry. We are fighting hard to get out of being perceived as yard boys and I surely don't want to be thought of as a pig.

I also posted this in a other thread, but it fits her too.

I think this Bikini thing is a great way to pinpoint all the perverts on your block.

I can't wait till neighbors who get feed up with seeing these poor women being used without any safety concern. I just can't imagine working with that amount of skin showing. I cover myself from head to toe and gloves. Safety First, money last.

Just wait till you see neighbors get fed up with this nonsense and start putting out flyers around the neighborhood saying something to this effect:

From xxxxxxx organization to our fellow neighbors.

I live at 1234 AnySteet and I just hired Bikini Cuts (<insert company name here) . You might just want to know because I could be a pervert or something worse. I love to look at women as eye candy and don't care if you are opposed to the display in our neighborhood. I love supporting companies that demoralize women. You should consider protecting your wives and daughters when I'm around.

Have a nice day,
Your neighbor at 1234 AnyStreet

You're getting too worked up man...you think the owners of 5-star restaurants view Hooters as a threat to ruin the restaurant industry??? I think not.

I love how people are soooo concerned about these girls alleged lack of safety...like that's the real issue....

Hoolie, Have you ever mowed a lawn before. I done it a few times in shorts. What a stupid idea. It's OK for a homeowner to make that choice, but we are talking about employees and a business. By the way the Hooters girls are indoors and not in any real danger serving food. Not to mention, people don't have to see them all over their neighborhood with men sitting out side gawking at them drinking beer and driving by yelling an honking their horns. How sad and idiotic. It's time for men to actually grow up and stop acting like dogs in heat. Seriously grow up.
