Has anyone hooked a billy goat blower up to the front of a walk behind mower? I looked into the jrco blower carrier but they say it won't work properly. I was at the hardware store today looking at a heavy duty caster wheel that I wanted to hook up to the front of the blower so it can swivel along with the mower and I was trying to think of a way to mount the back two tires to the mower. Any ideas?

I welded this up for my toro and It works awsome.I know its not a walk behind but you might be able to get a better Idea for yourself.Hope this helps a little. It wont let me upload pics.go to thread ztr mounted blowers and see there.

I bought a Giant Vac dolly off a guy on here, they don't make them anymore, and I thought the JRCO's were really cheaply made and HI-DOLLAR, but put in a request on here for a used Giant Vac one like I did. I have a 13HP Little Wonder and it's HEAVY, but it works good. The only time it was a little clumsy was when I was turning in sandy soil...since you're turning FOUR wheels up front..mower and dolly. Saves a lot of time, especially when there's not a lot of obstacles to go around. Here's a pic of my setup. I actually welded the u-clamps to the front spindle posts 'cause I was afraid of the clamps sliding down on all the bumps, considering the weight and the little room where they are mounted. I just leave the bar on there all the time for extra support, though it could be removed from the U-clamps, and as you can see in the second pic, the dolly mounts to it with 2 large pins. I know this isn't your exact setup, but maybe it'll give you some ideas.

I just strap the blower to the dolly with one heavy duty wratched strap, and you can remove the pins and take it all off as one unit and use just the mower if you need to. Helps to put a block under the rear of the dolly to hold the weight when removing the pins, since once you remove one, the other binds from holding all the weight...unless you have someone there to help hold it. Just sayin'.

I don't know who said the JRCO blower buggys don't work, because they do. However, Federal's setup appears as if it would probably work even better. It is lower to the ground. While the JRCO is lowered, it is stiil just a bit off the ground enough to lose some force. I like the way it (Federal's) was thought ahead and the back of the pan was curved up to ski over any high spots while backing up.

There's already so much weight on the front of a WB to begin with. Also, I thought that those flimsy looking rods that the blower wheels sit on would likely bend considering the weight of my 13 HP Little wonder, with going over all the bumps and stuff. I thought it was over-priced as well, plus you had to pay, seems like I remember, another $100 or so to get the specific mount setup for you particular mower. If someone can weld, I don't think it would be that hard to make one. Use the largest wheels you can....and use pneumatic tires.

I called it: How To Clean a Yard". Notice that is a HUGE Magnolia tree, THOUSANDS of Magnolia Cones from over a year of accumulation, that 13HP just blows them like nobody's business. Also, a Pic of my 20HP 12 inch intake, 15Ft hose Giant Vac truck loader which I have had for 2 years and haven't seemed to have the time to get it mounted on my GMC 3500HD Dump Truck...working on it though. NOBODY around here is doing cleanups efficiently (raking and tarping), and I'll NEVER do that *smile*. I'm gonna mount that HEAVY Vac to the FRONT on the existing Plow Mount (already found the heavy schedule 80 pipe), just got to weld it to the blower and slide it on the mount (with the help of my Case Skidsteer, I'm sure). It WAS a pull-behind unit, and it weighs a TON! I've researched the setups on here a lot, gonna blow it over the hood and into the bed...gotta build a piece-by-piece box with a mesh top. I figure a guy on the Shindaiwa 802 cutting all the beds and obstacle in, the Little Wonder to get it anywhere I can get the nose of the truck to, even if the back yard has a small gate, I'll just nose up to the gate with the hose, and suck it up and be gone. Plus, I can still tow my trailer. 12 to 1 reduction, and I figure the noise from that Vac alone will have the neighbors peeping out of their windows *snicker*, and get them thinking "HMMM, I'm looking at 3 days worth of raking and burning, and that guy just cleaned the WHOLE YARD in an hour and a half or less".....I can see it now...timidly walking over and asking "Sir, how much would you charge to clean my yard?" I'm kinda looking forward to it, actually...especially since it'll be COOL. I'm about OVER this humid 95-degree stuff. Anyhow...just thought I'd throw that out there. I believe there's a TON of money to be made in clean-ups if you can (1) EFFICIENTLY move the debris to where you can (2) get to it to suck it up. This is the whole reason I bought the Dolly and Blowers...just gotta get motivated to get it set up. I just hope the dogs don't come barking anywhere near the end of that hose!! (the guys in the pics are not mine...it's from the guy I bought it from).
