Hey guys. Just curious who has built their own headache rack for their truck. Thinking about building one for my Sierra because they're about $300 or so to buy a good one. Planning on mounting floodlights pointing back and maybe a mount for a lightbar on top if I do end up with one. So who's built one and what did it cost you? With raw steel prices the way they are, I think it might just be cheaper to buy. Thanks guys.

Don't you just hate those headache racks that's like everyone else's?

I think they ought to outlaw those. A man should have to make his own. If he can't make his own he should at least design his own and have someone make it for him.

Headache racks ought to have lights. I like at least five or six up there. Two backup, two run-brake, and at least one cargo should be the minimum.

Here's one I'm doing for a bud's 2002 Dodge one ton utility bed. You'll never guess what he likes to do when he's not working.
