Changing blades on a zero turn. How do you jack it up?

My dealer said not to place a jack under the deck to jack the mower up, yet every video I've watched does it that way. They said it can bend the rods that adjust the deck height I think is what he said:dizzy: He recommended I get a mower jack that jacks it from the wheels, but that's like $200 bucks, plus I don't have room to store something like that.

I just drive one front wheel up on the trailer ramp the the rear wheels are at about the bottom of the gate. That straddles it enough for me to get the blades off easy and fast then just go to the other side and do the same thing for the last one

If you have a trailer then you have all you need!

Jungle Jim is what I've used the last 15yrs. Best $110 I've spent on tools!!

Never thought of the trailer ramp. I'll just do that then. Then just buzz it off from the bottom with an air impact wrench?
You got it! Or a block of wood and a ratchet whatever ya got

if its the compact pro, just lift the front end up and then slip a jackstand underneath the frame. Lift with your legs though it isn't exactly light :) the trailer thing works for mowers with the bigger decks but not so much for the compact pro.
I guess I would have to put one blade on and then switch to the other side of the ramp to do the other blade? Do the blades have to be 90 degrees of one another or does it not matter. Not sure if they hit each other if you line them up parallel.

I use a floor jack under the front of the deck, only way to get it high enough on my machine to get my impact onto the spindle bolt. If I do them by hand a trailer ramp is more than sufficient, I use the big Dewalt cordless impact which is a little long. In my opinion if using a jack on the deck is going to mess it up then me running into stuff in a yard will total the thing, I'm sure it's not made for it but it should be fine.

I would think $200 is worth the price to not have a mower fall on you. I used to think like that then bought one just for mowers and I can change blades in under 5 min. Safely as well. I guess that's key for me is being safe. But hey how much can a z turn really hurt when you're underneath? Buy a specific jack

use trailer ramp one front wheel hanging off the side in the air. you can get to all the blades no problem with an impact wrench.

can also use a floor jack under the front of the deck right behind the middle anti scalp wheels.

floor jack is rated at 3000lbs or more. it's not going anywhere.

That's exactly what I did today. Worked great and I got my mulch kit and new blades installed! I went ahead and put a jack stand under the frame of the trailer tailgate just in case the weld on the hinge broke or something like that. I like the idea of the ramp better than a hydraulic lift of some sort that can fail from air in the system or something like that.

Better safe than sorry! I try to leave the trailer hooked up to my truck when I do it too just to be on the safe side. The best part about it is not spending more money
