Home owner to a new Cheetah.

I have four hours on the clock so it will be a while before I need to change blades, but I reviewed the process in my mind over and over. I fail to see any quick process.

I understand the need for lifting the mower and deck, and I understand the need to use something (like a C-clamp) to hold the blades in place for removal.

My issue is holding the bolt on the bottom below the blades, while I remove the top nut in order to drop the long bolt and change the blades.

Looking for ideas .....!!!

Thank you all for the responses, But how do you hold that wrench under the blades for the middle spindle.

I just don't see my arms being long enough to hold the lower wrench on the bolt head, (under the blade) and tighten the upper nut... Are we talking two people here...???

Unless.... possibly use a small C-clamp on the blade and wrench in combination, while applying a tightness to the nut on top.....!!!

I just don't see that bolt and blade staying in place as it's applied from the bottom, long enough to put the nut on the top....!!!

Oppsss Curtis.....the engine is a 31 hp....

two 15/16's wrenches are all you should need or a wrench and a socket with a breaker bar or impact gun, how ever you wanna do it. not hard, no c clamp required you should be able to take the blades off scrap the deck and sharpen them, and reinstall them in 20 mins or less with a little practice and the right tools. have fun on your new cheetah!

Well go out to the unit with deck in high positon and raise up the foot rest and see if you can touch both the top and bottom of the bolt. If you use a 13/15 box end size wrench they are about 15" long so that helps a lot. Your c lamp idea will work but how are you going to get the nut back on the bolt if you got short arms:laugh: If you have trouble with that get a 4x4 block of wood and sit it under the bolt on bottom.

There it is.....
A block of wood wedged under the head of the bolt to hold the bolt and blade in place, giving me time to put the nut in place on top.

Thanks everyone......!!!!
