Just wondering how many others have done this and how it has worked for you? I try to do it everytime I change my blades, works really well in preventing grass build up on my new Triton. Sprayed it before clean-ups and the other day when we changed our blades the deck was clean as new. I have to order more, im running out!

- Dano if you see this, did you guys get your Store website up and running yet? Or is it still under construction?

If you are unfamiliar with Fluid Film, would like to try it on your mower deck, and live within the Continental United States, just PM me your physical shipping address and I'll let you try a sample can for free.

With no solvent content to evaporate, it is all usable product. It has a Lanolin base, which imbeds into the pores of metal, creating a barrier of protection. Fluid Film will stop corrosion on all metals and lubricate for extended periods of time because it will not dry out. It also remains super slick, helping to keep grass from clumping under mower decks. Try a can today on us. We are confident that you have never tried a better product for your landscaping needs.

Fluid Film will also not burn greenery when used on cutting devices. Made in the U.S.A. :usflag:

Yes, because its a waste of money. Fluid film is a very good product but used under a deck, at least in any sandy or dry conditions its gone in 1 yard. I had my deck rust some over the winter. I mowed 1 yard and the rust was gone. If their is enough dirt stirred up to blast off rust then fluid film doesn't stand a chance. I also notice clumping and sticking is the same, no matter what I use. I do use fluid film for just about everything else, especially the truck and snowplow.

Cheers

This morning, I mowed my soaking wet grass (after 2" of rain overnite). I removed approximately the top 2.5" off the top with absolutely NO CLUMPING whatsover. And yes, the underside of the deck was coated with Fluid Film - two yards ago. BTW, the underside still has no build-up of grass :usflag:

So what are some common uses for fluid film? I bought 4 cans of this stuff because it came highly recommended and have yet to figure out one place to use it other than decks. I bought it for decks but noticed I don't really get any buildup on the decks anyway so decided not to waste it.

I used to use Mow-Deck but it never really seemed to make a big difference for the cost. And I have not had any rust issues with my mowers. They never sit long enough to do that. I did get a small can of Fluid Film years ago when I bought my DR Field mower. Stuff seemed decent. It would be good for winter storage to help prevent rust.

jtf40, how do you like your Fastrak?
I like it ALOT. Keep in mind, I sold my Kubota ZD331 because of the weight, but it could cut anything in its path. The Super Duty was impressive in the soaked grass yesterday. It is relatively light (1,000 lbs.) and very easy (nimble) to operate. So far, I am pleased with the Hustler. :usflag:

 anything you spray on the underside of your deck, hoping to reduce clumping/sticking or rust is a complete waste of your precious time AND money.

It is inevitable no matter what you do. Hell, you could powder coat your deck once a week and it'll STILL clump in certain types of grass/weeds or plain wet grass.

And as said.... any rust will be blasted off very swiftly after a couple of sandy yard cuts.

Save your time and brain power for something that you can actually control.

That crap doesnt work!! Just scrape everyday and your set.
Okay, I take offense at that. :gunsfirin

You may not like that particular application, but Fluid Film is a superior product in many ways. We've never claimed Fluid Film would cure the problem under a mower deck. All we've ever stated is that it would help. We've received enough testimonials from people to justify the claim.

FYI, Fluid Film's #1 Function is to stop or prevent corrosion. We've had numerous outside testing done, including testing conducted by US Military and Space Systems Divisions. Here are just a few of the results:

Test conducted by Naval Surface Warfare Center, Carderock Division, Ship Systems Engineering Station Code 9770, Philadelphia, PA in June, 1997 for
corrosion preventives and lubricants used on shipboard cargo/weapons
elevators and other equipment using rails:

Fluid Film was found to be "the superior performer of all tested materials."
In fact, the difference in performance was found to be "profound," and was touted as "the most telling result of all the testing accomplished for this project." A directive was issued on April 13, 1994 to use Fluid Film, reducing the maintenance schedules for shipboard cargo/weapons elevator guide rails from quarterly to annually, leading to an estimated savings of over six figures.

The Naval Aviation Depot in Pensacola Florida conducted a process improvement study in October 1991, comparing Fluid Film to the required preservatives being used. In addition, further testing was conducted on Fluid Film for its corrosion protection capabilities in an outside environment:

Fluid Film was found to provide superior protection in salt water environments, and in testing conducted to direct exposure to the outside environment, Fluid Film was found to provide "outstanding results." Further statements made about Fluid Film included "Fluid Film provides superior corrosion protection plus a more environmentally safe work place. The use of this preservative will help to remove another ozone depleting substance from the system."

Boeing North American, Inc. Space Systems Division wrote specification MB0110-020 for Fluid Film's use on the Space Shuttle after Fluid Film met or exceeded all of the following requirements:

Salt Spray Test Requirement - 750 hours in a 5% salt fog environment according to ASTM B117.

Solids Content Requirement - At least 95%, ignoring water loss, when tested in accordance with ASTM D2369.

Heat Resistance Requirement - Subjecting one panel to a temperature of 150ÂşF for one hour per FED-STD-141.

Flash Point Requirement - The flash point will be no less than 400Âş F when tested per ASTM D92.

Boeing ran an additional test, placing Fluid Film in a 5% salt fog chamber with dissimilar metals, an environment which creates an extremely corrosive environment. Fluid Film's use as a corrosion preventive was cemented as a result.

Those are just a few of the tests conducted by outside agencies. :weightlifter:

Fluid Film is anything but crap, so there. :p

It also works great on guns, will keep locks, hinges and garage door rollers lubricated for at least a year, keeps battery terminals corrosion free for at least a year, will waterproof and condition your work boots, and we have heard will cure ringworm on cattle and sheep. :cool2:
