Any guys out there use the 2600 battery option from Echo as a tool for weekly mows? I'm not talking bush hogging, just light duty stuff. Opinions on its performance incl. battery life with the 5 Ah option?

Also, where do you find the 2600 model? Lots of 2100 models out there but hardly anyone carries the heavier duty model.

I have 2 and love them. On 15,000 square foot properties I can get 5 out of one battery. On the typical 8 to an acre homes around me I can easily get 8 to 10 of those. I carry 2 batteries and I've never ran both dead in a day. Powe wise there is no difference compared to the gassers. I usually just run mine on the low setting and that's on thick Southern grasses. I had to order mine because all the short sighted dealers around me want nothing to do with battery handhelds. Wonder why? 😂 I also have some greenworks commercial handhelds I'm trying out as well. I've been picking up the echo batteries on eBay for half the price new in the package too. Since the depot sells them they can be found cheap from store return sellers etc...

I've got one and i believe TT has one as well. I determined that the shindaiwa t3000 batteries also work on it.

They're a slight power upgrade from my t3000.

They do not compare to a gas trimmer and the 2.5ah will carry me a few lawns but that's about it. Great for the slower growth season, but alas, cannot replace gas yet. I figured you can double the lawns with the 5ah, but the thing is heavy and defeats the purpose for me when the hand side gets that heavy.

Heavy? I've ran srm 225s for years just because they are lightweight. With a 5ah battery they weigh 11.5 pounds. Same as my 225s. On weekly maintenance accounts which is 100% of my business they work perfect. I don't do property cleanups and overgrown BS. So in my case they replace gassers. We have replaced everything with battery except for our backpack blowers. That's coming next. I will say the greenworks commercial batteries are way ahead of anything else though. My GW 4ah batteries last alot longer than the echo 5ah. The only echo I run are the 2600s because the greenworks commercial trimmer IS heavy. Plus I've always used echo gassers and the familiar feel I like. The echo line isn't there yet as far as dedicated tools which is why I also run greenworks stuff. The reason I switched was out of necessity because I have rotator cuff tears from years of pull cords etc. that are very painful. It worked I come home nearly pain free every day now instead of fighting with trying to start 2 strokes all day. On a side note the dealer who's main line is Stihl told me greenworks makes their battery stuff. 😂 It's certainly not for everybody yet but it is a viable option.

One of the big advantages of cordless is that they tend to be light. Putting the big battery in eliminates that benefit. Thats why i run the 2.5ah batts because if im gonna lug around 12 lbs ill do it with a more powerful trimmer. I.e. gas.

All my gas trimmers fire up fast.

I have the greeneworks pole saw, its handy.
