3020 great for EOW accounts and heavy heavy trimming. 2620 plenty capable for weekly mowing

 

What kind of grass are you mowing in which you need that big of a trimmer for bi-weekly accounts? The 2620 can cut waist high grass.

 

I’m also contemplating a srm 225 for quick and light stuff
any thoughts?

Having had both, the 2620 will do it all. The 225 will handle probably 90% of what you would throw at it for a normal grass cutting route.

 

2620 Echo has plenty of power. I have heavy weeds and it blows through them.

 

Never tried the 3020 but I got the srm2620 and I'm honestly very impressed with it. It's powerful, light as a feather, starts fairly easily, still somehow doesn't eat through line as much as less powerful weed eaters.

 

I also run both the 2620/225...I have never come across something that either trimmer couldn’t handle.

I think that’s what it’s called. I don’t mow anymore, my younger brother is in charge of that segment of our business

 

Meh black diamond is ok for just soft grass but around hard objects like granite and rock forget it.

 

Another vote for Rotary Vortex trimmer line.

 

No more solid driveshafts except for the SRM-410X I see.

 

My Echo dealer said the flex shaft is better bc it reduces vibration. What's better about solid? More power to the head?

 

I always hear the flex cable shaft having more vibrations than a solid steel shaft. Here's one example I read a few minutes ago:

Shindaiwa T262 (Same as Echo SRM2060)
Purchased in April of 2019

Pros:

• Easy starting
• Weighs 12.4 lbs on paper but in real life, it was very well balanced and did not feel heavy at all even after long days of usage.
• Pretty good on fuel
• Very strong motor
• Fast cutting head for quick clean cuts
• Speed Feed 400 head is very use to and reload although the eyelids sit a little low. So, you have to be careful not to lower the head too much or you will scalp the grass.

Cons:
Only 1 and the biggest issue I had: excessive vibrations down the shaft at mid to full throttle. It started to develop at about 15-20 hours. Dealer tried to remedy the issue but it just got worse over time to the point where your hand would go numb. Dealer felt that the problem stemmed from the flex cable shaft used in the T262 and T302 models. He noted that the T235 which has a a solid steel shaft did not exhibit the same issue.
