I'm looking to purchase a used bagger for my 60" Lazer Z and had some questions I hoped someone on herecould help me with. Will a bagger off of a 72" deck fit my 60" deck? Also, my mower is a 2007. What years does the bagger unit have to fall under to fit properly? Thank you for any input.

Contact Exmark, give them your model # and serial#, and they will give you the models that are completely compatible. For sure you can tell by the types of decks they are. For instance, the Triton deck is going to have a different blower unit than one for the Ultracut, because of the blower opening. Unit to unit (deck to deck) though, an Ultra-vac from a 60 is the exact same as the 72. The only difference is the double pulley that goes on the spindle shaft. On the 72, the top pulley is smaller, causing a faster turn speed for the fan than the 60" pulley. Now, realistically, in the end, the blowers of the 60 and 72" units spin at the same speed when on their designated mowers. The reason there is a difference in the pulleys, is that the 72" decks turn at a slower rpm than the 60" decks...they are geared slower. This results in the same blade tip speed on the larger circumference 72 blade swing, as the smaller 60" circumference blade swing.

Personally, I like the 3 bag system. Not just because it has higher capacity. It allows us to easier dump the stuff anywhere with ease of handling. If you are hauling away with a truck, for example, it is easy to toss the bags and quickly put them back on (whole process takes easily less than a minute). With the clamshell, you have to lay down 2 tarps overlapped, back up onto the tarps, dump, lift the tarps up to dump them, then lay the tarps back down for next trip. Yes,...it does "quickdump" if you have a leafloader or an area like a field to dump in, but how often is that? And even then, it is best if the stuff is kicked and spread out. Another difference of the 3 bag to clamshell is that the 3 bag is easy on and off, compared to the clamshell which because of its size is very awkward - to the point of a two man operation to be done safely (they are HEAVY).
