Just finished the first property with the new gator blades and my verdict is still out wether I like them or not. Can anyone that has used them weigh in on your pros and cons and tips and tricks to make them work better for you?? Thanks!

My gator blades worked great on my bob-cat for bagging. Discharging was a little different, they just didn't provide enough dicharge velocity for what I liked and would clump a little bit in wet conditions. They did reduce clipping size though and allowed me to fit more in one bagger full than before. The finished cut was pretty good, not as crisp as the standard high lifts but acceptable nonetheless.

I recently tried some Oregon Part # 96-702 which are Gator Hi-Lift blades and I think that's the only blade that I will use on my Bob-Cat from now on.

I run a gator high lift blade on my 21in walk behind for mulching. It seems to produce smaller clippings, which is great unless the grass is taller than usual or damp. It tends to clump more than a slandard blade would especially when mowing wet - more deck stick too.

Ran Gator Mulchers off and on for the last 8 years. They cut a fine clip, but it doesn't carry as far. I've found it's hard to bog the mulchers down and they don't need sharpening as much.

I just bought a set of standard configuration Gator blades. It'll be interesting to see how they work compared to factory blades. I noticed the blade is not twisted as far on the gator as on the factory, so as they're sharpened the blade edge will be pushed upward. This is different than on the mulchers.

Some opt to run 2 gator blades and a lift blade on commercial riders. I have never tried it but they say if you put the high lift blade by the discharge, it kicks the discharge out pretty far.. Like i said, i never tried it but some swear by it.
I work for a large city parks dept in Alabama. We have huge properties where you run into all kinds of crazy grasses and weeds along with finished, ultra high maintenance turf .

I liked this config. the one time I was forced to run it on some utility properties. Had a bent blade and no extra gator blades, put a factory high lift on the discharge end and it worked awesome. Worked even better on finished turf. This was however on a 72" Toro Groundsmaster (my fav of all time) so i don't know how it'd work on commercial and residential sized stuff. Just know it seemed to work better with the Groundsmaster than a traditional config. Haven't tried it again since, got promoted from having to sharpen and install blades at the shop!

Gator blades aren't life changing. The Gators are marketed really well and make you feel like you 'have' to buy them.
They are a solid blade and probably a step up from some of the 'factory' blades.

They really shine when you have a bunch of leaves. I will put them on when leaves start falling.

The high lift paired with the Gators works very well.

arent gators a flat blade,? Whereas the stock blade has bends, if you put 2 gators and a stock high lift blade, it will cut at different heigths wont it??
This is a possibility, just depends on the other blade. The roadside mowing we keep up was hard to tell but I'm sure on nice turf it would be an easy test.

Most commercial mowers use a flat blade. If you look through the Gator catalog you may see some wavy mulchers though. I'm not sure.

As far as mixing Gators with other blades... As long as all 3 blades are the same thickness then they should cut at the same height.

You're talking about the lift foil or wing. Gator come in various different styles just like any other blade. Medium and high lift are the 2 most common. If I can remember I'm going to shoot a vid this week of my mower shooting grass over 10 feet out of my mower's discharge using Gators.

im talking about the bend in stock blades 2-3 inches from the center bolt whole, none of the gators ive seen have this, what ones exactly do you run??

Stock blade is very similar to the first one you show, but the gators ive gotten dont look like yours, they are flat across, od like to try a couple sets of the ones you have
I don't use those. It's just a pic of a Gator blade. Give me your mower details, I know it's a Bobcat but which model Bobcat and deck size and I'll find the part number for you.
