Here is our 1.5 year review of the grass flap! Bottom line is it is a must have imho, that simple. It's far more durable than I expected it to be and we have experience with the Ballard Advanced Chute System as well which I also though was a great product after a few tweaks required for the 48" zMaster Toro i installed it on. Having run the grass flap through harder use I'd recommend it whether dealing with a sit down or stander. Impossible to beat advantage of free hands. Hope you enjoy the detailed review video! Have a great weekend all!

That is true, the pedal does take up real estate on the platform that could be nice to have back. I considered the quickchute when buying the flap, looks like a very robust unit. How does the handle do when getting under trees and close to bushes on the discharge side?

So far, on the stander no issues with the handle. I think on a sit down the handle would probably get in the way more. Standers being so short and having that handle positioned correctly, I've yet to have it interfere much or take any sort of damage from trees and bushes, etc. I also only them on 52" and 32" standers. I'm not sure but maybe on a 60" or bigger it would become more of a problem as far as hitting objects.

The only thing that needs done is several times a year Ill spray the mechanisms with fluid film or wd40 to keep things moving smooth. It's certainly heavy and robust, when I first installed it I was concerned about the added weight on one side of the deck, come to find out it's a non issue. You dang near need ear plugs when you close the thing with the machine office.

Yes, my machine is a 61" deck and def more prone to interference from a handle. I considered the advanced chute for my stander as well. As stated in the video, had good luck with that system on a prior 2000 zmaster toro. They all require a pinch of lubrication at the pivot points occasionally sounds like. Good deal.

you may be misunderstanding how they work- you dont have to continuously apply pressure to keep the flat open.

IMO- safety, speed and accuracy wise (no chance of wig wags in your stripes from switching to one hand) these are the best on the market. i would never train an employee to purposefully take hands off the controls, especially when there are options that dont require it.

and as far as platform/deck real estate- i cant remember the last time i mowed with my stander where at the end of the day i wanted my feet planted in the same spot anyways. always was moving/rolling/shifting my feet around due to the pressure they put on the balls of your feet.
