Neem may or may not have azadirachtin in it. Clarified neem usually doesn't. I mix neem and azatrol together as the only insect control in the greenhouse. Works great. Azatrol acts as a antifeedant. Not sure on lifespan in the field. Lasts 2 weeks in the greenhouse.

 

I prefer Hort Oil . Neem Oil tends to separate in sprayers even with agitation.

 

Mineral oil is more likely to burn plants during the growing season, and is better for dormant protection, whereas neem is a little easier on plants (so you can use a little more), and is also more antifungal.

My wife finds the smell of neem offensive. Mineral oil shouldn't have an odor.

 

850ml oil, 75ml liquid soap/detergent ,75ml water mix together and shake again before use, mix 20ml per litre of water in a spray bottle

 

Any of you guys do a mid-summer spray with the low percentage rate, or only late fall and early spring apps?

Not sure which product you are asking about. I've used neem and azatrol mix at 2 to 3 tsp/gal in August in the greenhouse with no damage, even on poinsettias. Towards the back of the house temps regularly get above 100F. I wouldn't think of using horticultural oil in those conditions.
