how to replace drive belt on fr. wheel drive toro 22" with square head screws?

OK so the 3 month old mower broke the drive belt. no big deal right? here's the problem: the front transmission pulley has a weird metal bracket above it held down with SQUARE head screws.

anybody know how to remove those s.o.b.s? or where to get square head screw drivers?

if i can get the bracket off i can replace the belt...

I did find out they're called robertson screwdrivers...

Home Depot. Some deck screws are square drive.

I bet you will have a better time finding a square drive bit rather than a square drive screw driver.

I don't understand...

Is it recessed like a torx or a hex, or is it like a nut but square instead of 6 sides?

It's a round head shape recessed with a square. Robertson screws, most commonly found in mobile home siding.

Designed to resist stripping under a heavier torque load. Old man at Ace Hardware knew about it....

I've got the same freaking problem with my toro. These dumbasses decide to use a square head instead of a four-way. Asinine.
