Hi all, new to the forum and I'm amazed at the wealth of info on here.
I've done Afew searches but not much comes up.
So I have around 3 acres to mow and I've looking at the Hustler raptor SD or the Gravely Zt Xl both in 48" cut, and here in Australia there are only limited dealers for both brands.
I have had a look at both and driven them but I can't decide. I know the Hustler has the Kawasaki motor and the Gravely has the Kohler. I know I'm probably splitting hairs on the pros and cons of both machines but I don't want to buy another for a long time, and price wise the Hustler is $8300 and Gravely is $7900.
So if anyone has some input on the better unit I'd be pleased to here from you.
Thanks all

With a constant 3 acres to mow and trim, I personally went with the Fastrack SD-54". It's the lower end commercial-rated machine.

The pumps in the Raptor, even the SD are of a completely different design, and the frame isn't quite as sturdy, IMvHO, not to mention the ground speed of the FastrackSD and the better motor and the more comfortable seat (and it DOES make a difference!).

I mow 3-1/2 weekly, and another 1/2 acre that I have to transport the mower to, and am looking at picking up another acre to maintain.

Like the other forum participant said, with 3 acres, definitely go for the Super Duty. 48" or bigger. In particular if you do not wish to be buying another one for a long time. The raptor will do better on a smaller residential property. It isn't the same build quality as the other models.

Do you have at least two Hustler dealers owned by two different guys you can go to in case of need?

I'm mowing 1 acre in one spot, 4 acres in another, and another 1 acre in a third spot. I went with the 2015 Fastrack SD in 54" and have been happy with it. The ground isn't smooth enough to use all of the speed, but with 3-1/2 acres you will want the solid frame of the SD and the extra cushion on the SD seat isn't bad at all!
