I was talking to my exmark dealer and he said that the frame on the exmark and toro are the same its just different pumps and cutting deck and clutch, then i went to the toro dealer later and he said that toro owns exmark, if this is the case why doesnt toro run the triton deck, its far superior in wet wheather and the productivity would be better in the rain

Why would they lol thatd be a NIGHTMARE..from what i have seen and herd the triton deck BLOWS...i have a turbo force and i like it pretty well and imo is the best deck out there right now besides XR7

Idk brother I would have to disagree respectfully.. We have a toro z master and a Scag Turf Tiger zero turns at work and I agree the Turbo force is not a bad deck at all in fact it's one of the best I agree for sure being that it is heavier gauge than most out there and stands up and Imo opinion it is the best thing by far about the mower, but the velocity deck will outperform it even with dull blades every time especially really thick wet stuff but don't get me wrong it keeps right up with it when I ran it earlier this week running it side by side with another guy running the scag... I have to stay it's close but I would give it to the velocity deck but that being said I think it is only second to scag though especially in terms of cutting through a the really thick stuff ..

you obviously are in a different climate than we are, her its very wet and almost every account in my county requires you to bag. so the triton deck is the best performing deck here. on a wet day i never stoped because of clumping, just when the bags got to full

I really wouldn't say that XR-7 is that much better than the Turbo Force. Hustler has had problems with the XR-7, however I have not heard any problems from the Turbo Force decks.

I mow when its pretty wet out and I just open my baffle wide open and it does fine. Sometimes there will be a clump here and there depending on what you are cutting and the height of grass. Overall great job. I love my Toro.

Also, Toro does own Exmark. Pretty much from the seat back is Exmark just different decks for the most part.

Yes Toro owns Exmark. They let them run as a separate company. The story I heard was anything Exmark comes up with, they get for 2 years before Toro can copy.

Toro released Exmark to appeal to a new generation of LCO's from my perspective, not that that's really the reason.

When Exmark was introduced, the marketing campaign was...and still is, geared toward younger people by their look, techno junk on the mower, ect.

They remind my of the old slot cars that you could buy 3 million add-ons for.

Not sure how Exmark got there but they stayed there for the most part I would say because of quality, a high tech look, inonations such as the Ultra Cut deck. They are still one of the best handing mowers to me especially in tight area's with alot of trimming and manuevering. If you will notice Toro copied the whole mower and put thier name on it. Very little exept the decks, tanks , etc is different. I've been on most major brands of mowers and with the exeption of the new Triton deck they are hard to beat. Exellent resale value.

I have heard from some members that toro's "chassis" so to speak on the Z's is built heavier than eXmark's. Toro's machine isn't an exact clone. Toro had the turboforce deck with adjustable baffles out first and then exmark followed with the Triton (not exact clone, but same idea with adjustable baffles).

Exmark was in buis' long before toro bought into them. Toro saw the competition and I guess decided to join them instead of trying to beat them. I think the smart thing they did was keeping them seprate. toro has there hand in alot of companies like lawn boy, wheel horse, to name a few.

I believe they are 75% the same machine. Thats wat the Toro rep told me. Deck, gas tanks, a few other items, I think but am not sure about the frame, may just be a close clone instead of exact.

What is this?

Exmark was around for quite a while as an independent company,(1982 I believe) Toro simply bought them out.

If Toro can copt in 2 years how come they don't have Ecs on their mowers? I see they do have Ecs on their new walkbehind feild paint sprayer.

Toro acquired Exmark in 1997. If Toro perpetrates on Exmark what it did to Wheelhorse, Lawnboy, future times will be dim for Exmark. But fortunately, so far Toro has left Exmark pretty much to it's own devices. But with this Triton deck fiasco, I smell a dead Toro on the woodpile.

To clarify the geneology of Exmark and Toro...Exmark introduced the most innovative and successful mid mount Z in 1995, the Lazer. Toro had old technology and got their butts beat in sales. Toro solved their problem by acquiring Exmark in 1998. The units are similiar but still operate and cut very differently. Basically anything black on the units are the same and anything red or grey are different. They do share some accessories such as bagging systems, ROPS, etc, but they try very hard to differentiate between the two with unique design.
