Why not look around for other brands? Why do you "have" to buy a Lark? Premier, Tex, Holmes and a bunch of others are all good trailers. Did you look at any of those?

 

I had one, and it was the biggest headache Ive ever owned. Not one thing one the trailer held up, even the frame twisted (a lot). It never once had anywhere near its weight capacity in it. Lark played the blame game and stuck me and my dealer, the dealer bought it back under the condition I bought a new trailer from him. It was bought new in April 2010, I used it until the end of November then it sat at the dealer until spring when the dealer gave up arguing with lark. So after 8 months of use (and 3 sets of tires because the axles were not square) the trailer was unusable! Do not by a Lark, the little money you save will soon be ate up in lost time and trips to your dealer.

 

We're about to purchase a new enclosed as well . Larks were popular in my area when I first started looking around . They aren't as plentiful as they once were here . I'm sure there's still some around but I don't see many .

Like you I found some negative reviews , mostly it was about the thin plywood used on the walls coming unglued . I don't know what you found .

Well I can get an Arision or freedom for 4199 but I just thought that getting an 8x16 for that price was even better. Only difference is that arision has the treated floors and the freedom dosent. I was trying to get the trailer out the door out for under 4500 so i have money left to paint the floors and add tie down hooks

The plywood on my walls was the only thing that didnt start to fall off, the plywood on the floor was a different story! None of the seems lined up with the cheep frame rails below so it bowed and cracked and that is with 16" on center beems. The frame rails were made of very thin stamped C channel, kinda like the metal wall studs Home Depot sells!

 

I know pace, wells cargo, and haulmark are all good. but haulmark and wells are rediclous with their prices. im sure theres a trailer out there that is cheaper and stiff of quality

 

I guess im one of the only ones that hasnt had any real problems with Lark ....Plywood is exactly the same in pace and hallmarks that i looked at ...I havent checked in a couple years now but when i was looking around the Lark , Hallmark , And the Pace all were exactly the same aluminum diameter , plywood , steel thickness ..The Lark however is over $2500 cheaper than both of the others ...I have had to replace 2 wheel bearings in the last 3 years though ...In my case it worked out ...Now i did have a Pace before the Lark and the paces steel twisted on me ..It was from overloading and hitting a real bumpy road though ....I will Buy another Lark ....I guess im just one of the lucky ones that have had no problems with it ..

 

LOL. I went to a localer trailer dealer today and I asked about Lark and she said that she has had nothing but warranty problems with them and that Lark is a economy trailer. Just a plain jaine based model trailer and there ****. And she has sold them and will sell them. So to me thats pretty biased. She just dosent stock them because she dont like them. Im looking at a cargo mate now.

 

I hear ya ..My Mower dealer sells Pace trailers and he said same thing about the Lark ... Again i must of been the lucky one .. All i can tell you is i hope you get a good one no matter who makes it ...
