The first year that I had Lawnstarter, they were fine. We were remote and moving to this area. They sent pictures and eventually we had a system worked out. Then once we got here, we had them do it a few more times and then we paused for the Fall/Winter. The following year was horrible. The service was terrible. Our grass was not overgrown or anything like that. The pro, and I use that term in jest, didn't even do the weed clearance, which was minimal and missed several areas with is ride-on mower. The next pro just kept not showing up and rescheduling. Finally we got a guy that was really good and conscientious but he was very busy and skipped us a few times when he was not in our area. This year I had someone scheduled for today. All last week I received emails about this service, scheduled for today and the name of the 'pro'. He apparently decided that it didn't need to be cut. Well, I have news for him...I AM THE CUSTOMER AND THAT IS MY DECISION, NOT HIS! We have patches of onion grass throughout our property and those patches are getting tall. No, the grass hasn't grown a lot but it can be cut. I could do it and I would if I didn't have this last mowing left over from last year. OH and one of those pros damaged a drainage system lid...chewed it up with his mower. Lawnstarter did nothing. Said I had to take it up with the pro, which i did and guess what? They canceled my next service and I paid the $25.00 for the new lid that they damaged. Lawnstarter as a company distanced themselves completely. I sent before and after pictures. They did nada. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME, MONEY OR PATIENCE WITH THIS COMPANY. THEY DON'T GIVE A DAMN ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS.

I used this app as a pro for 2 years. I was shocked at the number of ppl that had no idea the app was a third party and simply a 'match-maker'. The pro usually gets a payout of $22.77 and $43.83, then they take an additional $1.50. To even become a pro on the app you have to submit to a background check and have an EIN as a bare minimum. I guess if you don't have insurance they just throw you in on theirs... IDK. Anyway point being, when you hire a pro on that app they have a legitimate business but are operating at 35-55% less. No way a business can survive by loosing that much right off the top and still just pay taxes, much less equipment expenses! Hopefully this pops up when someone searches lawnstarter or lawn love experience
